Sexuality is a core component of healthy child and youth development. This training opportunity is designed to delve deeper into the unique needs of service providers who work directly with youth or in youth service agencies. Participants will explore their own practice with youth in the context of their organization while learning new skills through interactive modules designed to increase awareness and knowledge around the following topics:

  • Cultural Aspects of Sexuality
  • Social Definitions of Sexuality
  • Human Sexuality Development
  • Diversity in Human Sexuality: Sex, Gender and Sexual Orientation
  • Adolescent Identity Development and Healthy Sexuality
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Sexuality
  • Working in Youth Systems
  • Sexuality in Assessment and Case Management
  • Best Practices and Evidence-Based Approaches to supporting Youth Healthy Sexuality
  • Contemporary Influences: Sexuality and Social media
  • Policy and Youth Programming Considerations
  • Resources and Referrals 

IDEAL FOR: Those working in youth serving agencies such as, but not limited to: Child and Youth Care Workers, Child and Family Services Workers, Youth Program Staff, After-School Programs, Social Workers, Child and Adolescent Healthcare Workers.

CERTIFICATION: Participants will receive a certificate of completion worth 6.0 Hrs that can be applied to Continuing Competency Programs for various professional regulating bodies

COST: $100.00, Includes snacks, coffee/tea and lunch. Free parking available on site. Please indicate dietary needs on registration form.
