LGBT2SQ+ Program

SERC offers affirming and supportive programming for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Two-Spirit and Queer+ (LGBT2SQ+) individuals, families and friends in Brandon and Western Manitoba.

SERC Brandon’s LGBT2SQ+ Program supports our community by:

  •  Proving LGBT2SQ+ awareness & support education, training, consultation and outreach
  •  Running monthly all-ages social and peer support groups for those in the LGBT2SQ+ community
  • Hosting and curating a LGBT2SQ+ resource library
  • Providing referrals for those looking for further learning or connections
  • Supporting LGBT2SQ+ communities by tabling at events
  • Offering LGBT2SQ+ counselling and support

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Our core LGBT2SQ+ Awareness and Support workshops or presentations explore:

  • LGBT2SQ+ identities
  • Sexual orientation
  • Gender identity & expression
  • Identifying and interrupting homophobia, biphobia, lesbophobia, transphobia, heterosexism and cissexism
  • Intersectionality & systems of oppression
  • Supporting & advocating for LGBT2SQ+ individuals, families, and communities
