Healthy sexuality is a key component of overall health and wellness for all people, including people living with developmental disabilities. This introductory training event will take a rights-based approach to understanding the complexities, challenges and issues with respect to sexuality, in organizations that support people living with developmental disabilities. This introduction aims to support growth in service providers looking to enhance their skills addressing and communicating about sexuality issues in their work.

- Frameworks for Responding to Clients and Community
- Enhancing Environmental Supports
- Understanding the Role of Stigma
- Promising Practices and Evidence-based Approaches

IDEAL FOR: Service providers who work directly with people with developmental disabilities including: social workers, government and non-profit sector program planners and policy-makers, settlement services, mental health workers, health care workers in all areas and students in the social sciences, humanities and related human service fields.
CERTIFICATION: Participants will receive a certificate of completion worth 6.0 Hrs. that can be applied to continuing competency programs for various professional regulating bodies.
