With the new school year starting, we also begin a new year of Teen Talk workshops. This year, Eveline Buehlmann will be managing intake requests for our Workshops for Youth program. To help teachers, programs, communities and us plan for the fall we are encouraging requests to be submitted by September 17th so that we can confirm your booking by the end of September. While we do our best to accommodate everyone we tend to fill up fast so it can be helpful to provide alternative dates when possible.
While the topics for the 2018/19 remain the same, you may notice some changes to their name and our booking request form. Teen Dating Violence is now known as Teen Dating Relationships. This name change reflects our strength based value of teaching teens not only what to do when there is violence but also how to build a healthy relationship with both themselves and partners. Birth Control is now called Sexual Reproductive Health to reflect our holistic approach to reproductive health including healthy discussions to have with partners including consent, and information on sexual and reproductive anatomy. On our updated booking request form, you’ll notice we ask for a bit more information on what else you will be teaching with the youth. Having this information helps guide our presenters in where to focus more time in our workshops. It may also help Eveline in providing you suggestions on topics that could be a good fit for the group.
