Sexuality is a core component of healthy child and youth development. Back by popular demand, this training event is designed to delve deeper into the unique needs of service providers who work directly with youth or in youth service settings. Participants will explore their own practice with youth in the context of their organization while learning new skills through interactive modules designed to increase awareness and knowledge around the following topics:

  • Sexuality Foundations
  • Diversity in Human Sexuality: Sex, Gender and Sexual Orientation
  • Child and Adolescent Sexual Development
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Sexuality
  • Working in Youth Systems and Case Management
  • Best Practices and Evidence-Based Approaches to Supporting Youth Healthy Sexuality
  • Contemporary Influences: Social Media and Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Policy and Youth Programming Considerations
  • Resources and Referrals

IDEAL FOR: Front line workers in youth service settings including: child and youth care, child and family services, youth programs, after-school programs, social workers, child and adolescent health, and students in the social sciences, humanities and related human service fields.

CERTIFICATION: Participants will receive a certificate of completion worth 6.0 Hrs. that can be applied to continuing competency programs for various professional regulating bodies.
