STBBIs and Stigma: Tools and Approaches for Working With Youth

This free, half-day training opportunity will equip youth service providers with knowledge and tools to address stigmas associated with sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs) and their impact on youth sexual health. This interactive training is ideal for service providers who work directly with youth in clinical, group and program settings.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Gain up-to-date knowledge about STBBI transmission and barriers to testing
  • Engage in interactive activities modeling a youth friendly approach to teaching sexual health concepts
  • Explore activities and tools to use in your work with youth.

IDEAL FOR: Front line youth workers including: teachers, guidance counsellors, child and youth care workers, youth and after-school program staff, social workers, child and adolescent healthcare workers and students in the social sciences, humanities and related human service fields.

CERTIFICATION: Participants will receive a certificate of completion worth 3.0 Hrs. that can be applied to continuing competency programs for various professional regulating bodies.
