Over the past year, SERC has experienced a heightened level of backlash and harassment for our work in communities across Manitoba. Our partners across the country have seen the same reactions to various misinformation campaigns. In this discussion, Brianna (Communications Coordinator), Racheal (2STLGBQIA+ Program Coordinator), and J (Ongoing Facilitator) will discuss the history of this “movement,” its effects today, and what service providers from all different sectors can do about it. If we can’t name it, we can’t talk about it.

The SERC Discussion series is when a small group of SERC staff discuss a theme to give service providers more of an inside look at our work. It’s like a podcast episode. If our work is anything like yours, it is those honest discussions with co-workers when we have a quick minute where we learn and become inspired to continue doing what we do.
