This is SERC’s oldest and most refined workshop. Its two jam-packed days cover how to run a sexual health educational group with people of various ages (in or out of a classroom environment). Think of it as a sexuality educator starter pack. This workshop has been formed through hundreds of workshops our youth facilitators have completed over the years with thousands of participants. We also get practice every year training teachers in 5 school divisions.
We will cover the theoretical approach to our work along with tools for evaluating and constructing your own sessions. After that we go through topic areas and try out activities together. After the workshop, you will be prepared to begin facilitating the activities in your programming right away.
This session is part of the Ongoing Learning Hub. The Hub offers comprehensive full-day training opportunities, Webinars, and lunch-and-learn-style events to support service providers in Manitoba. Each draws on expertise, up-to-date research, evidence-based approaches, and local resources to enhance knowledge, skills, and awareness of sexuality issues. Launched in 2024, SERC offers training online on our Learning Management System at your own pace. New courses will be added each year.
