Kal Barteski Partners with SERC to Raise Awareness About and Support Youth Health Education
Young Manitobans have been through a lot this past year, and they need our support.
Our Youth Health Education program – which includes the Teen Talk program, our work with newcomer, immigrant and refugee youth, and work with youth in the Brandon and Westman area – has been fielding a lot of very difficult questions about mental health and navigating online spaces safely. In fact, requests for mental health related workshops have nearly doubled this year, and requests for support and resources through our email and social media channels have increased steadily since the pandemic began.
In support of Youth Health Education in Manitoba, Winnipeg-based local artist and advocate Kal Barteski has partnered with SERC to develop a campaign that promotes messages of wellness and strength while also raising crucial funds for our youth health education programs.
Poster: Conversation Starter About Sex Ed
As part of this exciting partnership, Kal Barteski has created a free, downloadable poster that encourages both reflection and discussion on the complexity of human sexuality and sexual health education. This tool can be used by parents, teachers, or anyone interested in starting a conversation about sexuality.
