SERC is pleased to announce that Hafiz Jatto has stepped into the role of Director of Programs, effective May 11, 2026. Hafiz will support the entire SERC team, working with Executive Director Gillian Roy in advancing our upcoming strategic plan.
Following the departure of Co-ED Leigh-Anne Caron in October 2025, the SERC Board of Directors remained committed to the co-leadership model. In the interim, SERC has decided to return to a familiar approach with two distinct roles: Executive Director and Director of Programs. Following an extensive search, we are excited to have Hafiz join our team.
Hafiz joins SERC with over ten years of experience in Winnipeg’s non-profit, community, and government sectors, most recently at the Social Planning Council of Winnipeg and, before that, with our neighbours at the Occupational Health Centre. Throughout his time working in Winnipeg, Hafiz has led with values of collaboration, transparency, and humanity.
As Director of Programs, Hafiz oversees SERC’s programs and services, including ongoing engagement in collaborative program development and implementation.
He is passionate about community development, increasing our collective impact through partnerships, securing strategic investments in the community, and is driven by a commitment to lifelong learning. With a burgeoning career in community development spanning more than a decade, Hafiz brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to SERC as Director of Programs.
When not at work, Hafiz is an avid runner, community builder, and musician. He sings bass in the Roots in Harmony choir and co-parents an 8-year-old Maltese poodle named Lulu.
We are very excited to watch Hafiz bring new perspectives and experiences to the role. Join us in congratulating him!
